Shadow passage

Description

Magician shows a deck of cards and shuffles it. Spectator chooses three cards from the pile of cards. The two cards are determined to play the role of a portal, allowing for a transition between space and time. Magician inserts a third card between these two cards. When spectator holds all three cards in his hand, magician covers them with a handkerchief. Spectator feels all the time that he really has all three cards in his hand. Magician then shows an empty box of cards and places it on the table for all to see. Magician then removes the handkerchief with which all three cards were covered, and the middle card inexplicably disappears from the spectator’s hand. The card that disappeared then appears in the same box that was before empty. In the end, spectator is left with only two cards in his hand.
